OUR SERVICES
Skin Cancer

There are several treatments for skin cancer. These methods include surgery (simple excision, Mohs surgery, curettage and cautery), non surgical (photodynamic therapy and topical cream treatment), laser therapy (vermilionectomy) and radiation therapy. The method chosen depend on several factors such as location of the cancer, its size and previous therapies.
Mohs surgery
Mohs surgery (microscopically controlled excision) is the most effective technique to remove some types of skin cancers. During the procedure, thin layers of skin are removed and examined under a microscope. The process is repeated until the cancer has been removed.
Topical therapy
Efudix/Aldara/Picato are medical guided treatments for superficial pre-cancerous and cancerous skin lesions.

Photodynamic therapy
Photodynamic Therapy is a scar minimising technique using a combination of a topical cream and specific light source under the application of medical staff to treat your sun spots and some skin cancers.
Laser vermilionectomy
A laser vermilionectomy is a procedure where your specialist removes the superficial cell layers from your lower lip vermilion. The vermilion is the pink part of your lower lip.
General Dermatology

At Dermatology Specialist Centre we provide treatment for general dermatology conditions. This can involve areas of concern of the skin, hair, nails or sweat glands.
Rosacea
Rosacea is a skin condition that causes the swelling of blood vessels beneath the facial skin, causing redness, spider-like blood vessels or acne-like blemishes. Flare-ups can be controlled.
Acne treatment
Acne is a skin disease that is characterised by blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and greasy skin and may result in scarring. There are a number of treatment options to assist with managing acne in teenagers through to adults.
Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis refers to increased sweating and may affect any area of the body but is particularly a problem on the hands, armpits and the feet.

Alopecia
Alopecia is the loss of hair on the scalp and elsewhere on the body.

Cosmetic Dermatology

At Dermatology Specialist Centre we offer a range of cosmetic dermatology procedures all performed by dermatologists. Lasers can be used to help control the aging process and to give the appearance of smoother looking skin.
Facial redness
Photo rejuvenation with Ellipse Nordlys IPL utilises multiple wavelengths (different colours) of light in a single flash to target both the redness (blood in vessels) and pigmentation (melanin) in sun damaged skin. This leads to a fresher, smoother and more vital looking skin with a healthy sheen. It will not eliminate deep wrinkles but can soften fine lines.
Filler injections
Filler injections are a cosmetic procedure used to help smooth out wrinkles or pitted scars on the skin.
Anti-wrinkle treatments
Anti-wrinkle injections are most commonly used to improve the appearance of wrinkles on the face.
Rhinophyma treatment
Rhinophyma is a skin disorder that is characterised by a large red bumpy nose.

Hair removal
An Ellipse Nordlys IPL laser can be used for hair removal in cosmetically sensitive areas.
Broken Capillaries and spider nevi
Sclerotherapy is a procedure to eliminate spider veins. It involves injections directly into the vein.

CO2 laser
Looking for smoother looking skin that can soften fine lines? Photo rejuvenation using the IPL or a CO2 laser can be used to resurface an area and help reduce wrinkles and blemishes.
Age spot removal
Unsightly age spots can be removed via a shave excision.
